How would the bailout plan not being passed affect company’s payroll as the news is reporting?

Icon Written by admin on October 31, 2008 – 2:27 am

I really don’t see why my employer would not be able to pay me because of the lack of a bailout, but all I’ve heard on the news today is that employers might not be able to pay employees and I might not be able to take money out when I got to the ATM. [...]

Was the Wall Street bailout socialism you accept?

Icon Written by admin on October 31, 2008 – 2:27 am

Im sure you will say it was necessary for everyone, so where do you draw the line?
It was blatant socialism of the worst kind. The markets demanded that these toxic assets be liquidated and home prices should fall to their natural level. Government intervention and Federal Reserve monetary policy created the housing bubble, and anyone [...]

Who here is against the US Bailout of Wall street?

Icon Written by admin on October 31, 2008 – 2:27 am

I am, it`s going to destroy the dollar, printing off all that money. This is just prolonging it in my opinion. If you can spend money on this why not spend it on health care.. or stop invading random countries.
I know that the bailout was passed, I`m not under a rock. I`m asking peoples opinions [...]

How is it that the Treasury and Fed Reserve can already begin spending money from the bailout package?

Icon Written by admin on October 31, 2008 – 2:27 am

When in fact the money hasn’t been taxed yet from the people on the bailout. Where does this mythical money come from as it seems like it is from thin air?
The government cannot run out of money. Go into your wallet and take a look at what you’ve got in it. It’s called Federal Reserve [...]

How is the banking bailout different from the airlines’ bailout?

Icon Written by admin on October 28, 2008 – 2:38 am

Sure the airlines had a really good excuse for losing customers but the bailout didn’t do any good for the majority.
bailouts have usually resulted in profits for the U.S. government such as the Chrysler, and New York city bailouts because the intrest is going to benefit the consumers of the assets.

the housing market will return [...]

Why are Democrats upset at the Wall Street bailout collapse?

Icon Written by admin on October 28, 2008 – 2:38 am

After all, I thought Democrats were opposed to “corporate welfare”!
Well, isn’t acting outraged kind of what they’re all about anyway, regardless of the issue or subject?

Will an Indian Veshti Tamilan be the proud manager of US financial bailout?

Icon Written by admin on October 28, 2008 – 2:38 am

Poor in India will be used to bail out the rich in US through voting for Nuke -deal by US Congress.
Yeah. What do Americans expect. American corporations been taking advantage of India and China’s cheap labor for so long (i.e., paying them crappy, far less than living wages) that it’s probably about time some Indians [...]

Is one of the worst features of the bailout its fundamental restructuring of power of the purse?

Icon Written by admin on October 28, 2008 – 2:38 am

Since the Magna Carta countries under Anglo influence have had power of the purse in the representative body, as we have it in Congress, as a matter of separation of powers. This would fundamentally restructure that giving sweeping discretionary power to the Treasury Secretary appointed by the President and to the Fed, a quasi [...]

If the Dow keeps dropping will Congress knuckle under and give Paulson unfettered authority in the bailout?

Icon Written by admin on October 28, 2008 – 2:38 am

They better not…to give one person access to all that money would be stupid and suicidal…career-wise
